The Ashkenazi Jewish Community’s Elevated Risk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer

Tara Feiner, Jewish Family Services of Greater Dayton, partnering wish Sharsharet

During October and November, Tara Feiner, Jewish Family Services Director, will be visiting local Jewish organizations to speak about the Ashkenazi Jewish community’s elevated risk for breast and ovarian cancer. These talks are done as part of JFS’s partnership with Sharsheret. See below for dates and locations. Watch our Facebook page for future dates and locations.

Jewish Family Services is an official partner with Sharsheret. Sharsheret is a national organization that supports Jewish women and families, of all backgrounds, who face ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and who are at high risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. In this program, Tara Feiner will present about the importance of knowing your family history and risk factors for breast and ovarian cancer and how the JFS/Sharsheret partnership can provide supports. As a carrier of the BRCA 2 mutation, Tara will weave her story into the presentations.
