At Camp Shalom, we warmly nurture the qualities that create lasting friendships: kindness, empathy, bravery, trust, and communication. Winter Camp Shalom is packed with adventures, from exciting field trips that include museums and entertainment centers. Every day brings something new: cooking projects, arts and crafts, STEM explorations, and fun indoor sports.

Schedule

Monday, December 22: Hanukkah Heroes ~ Join us for a festive day filled with sports, creative crafts, dreidel games, and the delicious tradition of cooking (and tasting!) latkes. It’s a perfect way to honor the heroes of Hanukkah while having fun together!

Tuesday, December 23: Newport Aquarium Field Trip ~ A thrilling field trip to the Newport Aquarium! Your camper will dive into an underwater world, meet thousands of amazing aquatic animals, and get hands-on as they touch stingrays, sharks, crabs, and more. Plus, walking through underwater tunnels, meeting penguins and a rare white alligator, and crossing the world’s first Shark Bridge—right above the sharks— is a real-life adventure! Admission and transportation are included in camp tuition.

Wednesday, December 24: Arctic Adventures ~ Campers will dive into a frosty day of fun—making their own ice cream in a bag, competing in exciting “icy” sports, and creating frozen-themed crafts. It’s a cool way to bring warmth and joy to winter!

Thursday, December 25: Closed

Friday, December 26: Pajama Jam under the Stars ~ Wear your favorite PJs and get ready for a cosmic adventure! Campers will enjoy sports, crafts, and an out-of-this-world cooking project. The day will end with a special visit from the Boonshoft Museum’s Mobile Planetarium, where we’ll explore the wonders of the night sky together.

Monday, December 29: Mad Science Day ~ Awaken your inner mad scientist with a day full of hands-on experiments and wacky STEM-inspired games. We’ll even whip up a delicious edible experiment in the kitchen! One thing’s for sure – science at Camp Shalom is never dull, only thrilling!

Tuesday, December 30: USAF Museum and IMAX Theatre Field Trip ~ Campers will enjoy a thrilling IMAX screening of Fighter Pilots: Operation Red Flag, followed by exciting team scavenger hunts throughout the museum. Each camper will get to choose from three different scavenger hunt themes, making the adventure unique for everyone. It’s sure to be a high-flying experience full of fun, learning, and teamwork!

Wednesday, December 31: Shine Bright Party ~ Close out 2025 by showing off your brightest, truest self! Come dressed in your most colorful clothes and let your wacky side shine with crazy hair. Campers will spend the day playing glow-themed games, enjoy a special noon countdown, and end the celebration with a glowing dance party as we say goodbye to 2025 in style!

Thursday, January 1: Closed

Friday, January 2: Mitzvah Marathon ~ Start the new year by spreading kindness! Campers will spend the day doing good deeds—making pet toys for local animal shelters and packing bagged goodies for those in need. We’ll also play games that encourage teamwork and helping one another. There’s no better way to kick off 2026 than by making the world a little brighter together!
