Life-long learning and critical self-reflection

Love your neighbor as yourself– ואהבת לרעך כמוץ—(Leviticus 19:18)

Recognize and change power imbalances within our own organizations and our larger community

Justice, justice you shall pursue– צדק צדק תרדוף—(Deuteronomy 16:20)

Institutional accountability within our own organization and our larger community

Do not stand idly by–לא תעמד על-דם רעך—(Leviticus 19:16)

 Jewish Holidays

Jewish holidays are central to Jewish life, bringing meaning, tradition, and community connection throughout the year. They often include time for prayer, family gatherings, and cultural practices that may affect school, work, and community schedules. By recognizing these observances, schools, workplaces, and public institutions can help ensure that Jewish community members feel respected and included.

Israel and Overseass

We Stand with Israel

The Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton and our community stand in unwavering solidarity with Israel. Following the tragic events of October 7, 2023, and in the months since, we have rallied together to provide support, advocacy, and resources. Standing with Israel means affirming our deep connection to the people of Israel, offering humanitarian aid, educating our community, and speaking out against hatred and violence. Through this commitment, we strengthen the bond between Dayton and Israel, ensuring that our community remains a strong partner in times of both crisis and hope.
