Jewish Family Services connects ~ guides ~ cares.

Guided by Jewish traditions, the mission of Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Greater Dayton is to provide individuals and families within the Miami Valley with the tools and services to lead happy and healthy lives.

JFS is available to anyone who lives in the Miami Valley, whether Jewish or not, and regardless of age. We connect our clients to vital resources to offer help over both the short and long term. Whether you are feeling grief, isolation, overwhelmed, frustrated, lost, alone, or confused, we can help.

Due to the government shutdown, many people find themselves facing uncertainty and financial challenges. We are here to help. Call us at 937-610-1555. There are also many available resources in the community:

Important Message About Your SNAP Benefits: Please be advised that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients may not receive their November benefits as normally scheduled if the federal government shutdown continues. However, SNAP recipients will be able to use their existing benefits after October 31. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will share further information as the federal government provides updates. Go to https://jfs.ohio.gov/ for updates.

INFORMATION & REFERRAL

Sometimes you may need assistance or a particular resource, but you are not sure where to turn. JFS can provide you with requested resources.

CASE MANAGEMENT

If you require more in-depth support, JFS can help connect you to appropriate resources. Case management includes advocacy, needs assessments, living arrangement evaluations and planning, friendly visits, telephone reassurance, transportation services, Medicare counseling, and specific financial assistance.

Holiday Outreach

Do you or someone you know reside in senior housing (independent living), assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing? JFS provides holiday outreach at Rosh Hashanah, Purim, Passover, and Chanukah to those who are Jewish and live in these residential settings.

  • WHERE DO I START? Who are our community partners? I need guidance and support.
