Torn (2025)

A thought-provoking look at how NYC streets became a battleground over “KIDNAPPED” posters—exploring identity, empathy, and freedom of expression post-10/7.

Thursday, October 16, 2025
6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Presented by the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton, join us for Israel in Focus: A Three-Part Documentary Series, a powerful three-part documentary screening and discussion series exploring the events of October 7, 2023 — a day that forever altered the course of Israeli history and touched the lives of Jews around the world.

Each session will feature a compelling documentary film that offers a different perspective on the events of that tragic day, to its ongoing human and societal impact, to how individuals and communities are moving forward in the aftermath. Following each screening, we invite participants to engage in open, meaningful conversation with fellow community members. Mental health professionals and clergy will be present to provide support and guidance throughout the evening.

This is a space for reflection, connection, and resilience — open to all who seek understanding, healing, and solidarity.

This program is made possible through grants from the Esther and DeNeal Feldman Jewish Experience Fund and the JCC Association of North America, the Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Antisemitism, and Connections. The grant provides organizations with funding to commemorate October 7 and aims to honor the fallen, the survivors, and those still in captivity.

No charge. Questions? Contact Jeff Blumer at jblumer@jfgd.net.
