JCRC Volunteer @ The Foodbank

We invite you to participate in our upcoming Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) Mitzvah project on December 21st:

Join our MACC(and cheese)ABEES team at the Foodbank. Volunteers needed: 30 maximum; sign up early to insure your participation. Looking forward to a fun morning together and a way to serve our community!

Details about the volunteer opportunity:  Our group will be working in our drive-thru distribution where volunteers distribute food directly to our neighbors in need by unloading food off pallets and placing it directly into the neighbors’ vehicles. It is an open-air drive-thru so we suggest that volunteers dress for the weather, there is a heater, but we anticipate it will be cold. We also recommend dressing comfortably for light to moderate lifting. We do require all volunteers to wear closed-toed shoes, but I don’t think that will be an issue in December! We ask volunteers to arrive at 8:30 AM and everyone will be oriented with the shift prior to being in place so that the drive-thru can start promptly at 9 AM. We also anticipate it being quite a busy morning so plan on being on-site until PM, we are typically done around 12-1230 PM.
