Back by popular demand, JFS is hosting another Drive Thru Mitzvah Mission! Help us feed the guests at St. Vincent de Paul’s shelters and provide school supplies to children through Crayons to Classrooms! Prepare frozen, unbaked macaroni and cheese casseroles following the required recipe and directions below. Purchase school supplies from the high need list from Crayons to Classrooms. Drive thru the Boonshoft Center for Jewish Culture and Education (CJCE). JFS will take your donations of frozen casseroles and school supplies and provide you with a sweet treat in return. St. Vincent de Paul Macaroni and Cheese Casserole Recipe (must use, all casseroles must be from the same recipe)
1 1/2 lbs (24 oz) elbow macaroni
2 lbs. cheese melted
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of celery soup
2 1/2 cups milk
Cook macaroni and drain.
Melt cheese separately and add to macaroni. Add milk and soup. Mix well. Pour into sprayed pan. Cover loosely and place in refrigerator until completely cooled. Then cover tightly with sturdy foil lid and freeze. Casserole should be frozen for 36 hours, make sure yours is in the freezer by Friday, February 19 in order to be ready for the Sunday, February 21 Drive Thru!
