The Beat – Making Music at the J
March 4 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pmFree
This month: Rock n’ Roll facilitated by Irv Moscowitz!
The JCC is excited to host the second season of “The Beat,” welcoming all to an informal setting where we will play, sing, clap, or dance along with a variety of music that has Jewish connections. Sheet music will be made available in advance to those who want to play or sing (register to receive the music links). Or borrow one of our hand-percussion instruments and play along…no preparation required! Or simply come and enjoy the music and snacks.
This session will include songs such as “Johnny B. Goode,” “Another Saturday Night,” “Heard it in a love song,” “Old time Rock and Roll,” “I saw her standing there,” “Mrs. Brown you’ve got a lovely daughter,” “Hello Mary Lou,” “Born to Run,” “Rock and Roll Music,” “Wonderful tonight,” “Summertime Blues,” “Ramblin Man,” “Jumping Jack Flash,” “Hey Jude,” “Here comes the sun,” “Fun Fun Fun,” as well as some other favorites!
Participants who wish to bring their instruments are asked to register in advance so the facilitator can send them the music a couple of weeks before the session.
Musicians and vocalists of all abilities are welcome! Listeners are also enthusiastically welcome to join! We even have a few instruments available for those who might not have their own. Contact us for more information.
