On November 9th, 1938, the Nazis unleashed riots against Germany’s Jews, destroying synagogues, businesses, and homes, and arresting many for transportation to concentration camps. Known as Kristallnacht, “Crystal Night,” for the shattered shop windows, it was a first step leading toward genocide and the Shoah, the Holocaust. In a world still plagued by human rights violations and ethnic and racial violence, we come together, united with Marianists whose bold resistance to the Nazi regime compel us to pledge, “never again.”
