Keeping Dayton's Jewish community vibrant connected strong colorful
The Jewish Federation provides rich, cultural programming and resources to the Greater Dayton community through our Annual Campaign, Community Relations Council, Mission Trips overseas, and much much more.
Our Annual Campaign Makes an Impact
The Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton's Annual Campaign has been raising funds for over one hundred years, supporting our local agencies, and providing for Jews in need in Israel and around the world. Locally, our Annual Campaign directly funds the Federation, our Jewish Community Center (JCC), and Jewish Family Services. Our agencies receive the majority of their funding through our Annual Campaign.
Globally, a portion or our Annual Campaign is distributed through the Jewish Federations of North America to the Join Distribution Committee, the Jewish Agency for Israel, and World ORT. Together, these three national partner agencies reach out to Jews in need that live in every corner of the world.
At the very heart of the Federation's new Campaign is 100 Days of Tikkun Olam. Tikkun Olam is a hebrew phrase and key Jewish belief, which references the shared responsibility to heal, repair, and transform the world. Our 2016 100 Days of Tikkun Olam will kick off on May 15 with the President's Dinner, and will end August 17 at the Federation's Annual Meeting. The Federation aims to focus fundraising efforts during these 100 days, with the goal of making a statement about Jewish values in Dayton. The Federation's Annual Campaign helps raise funds locally, in Israel and around the world. The Jewish Community Center and Jewish Family Services' programs and services benefit from the Federation's Annual Campaign. Thank you for making a difference!

Since 1929, The Jewish Agency for Israel has worked to secure a vibrant Jewish future. The Jewish Agency was instrumental in founding and building the State of Israel and we continue to serve as the official link between the Jewish state and Jewish communities everywhere. This global partnership has enabled us to address the Jewish People’s greatest challenges in every generation.
Today, the Jewish Agency for Israel connects the global Jewish family, bringing Jews to Israel, and Israel to Jews. They build a better society in Israel - and beyond - energizing young Israelis and their worldwide peers to rediscover a collective sense of Jewish purpose. The Jewish Agency continues to be the Jewish world’s first responder, prepared to rescue and bring Jews home to Israel from countries where they are at-risk.
The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) is the world’s leading Jewish humanitarian assistance organization. Founded in 1914, today JDC works on behalf of the Jewish communities of North America in Israel and more than 70 countries across the former Soviet Union, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America to alleviate hunger and hardship, rescue Jews in danger, and create lasting connections to Jewish life.
JDC builds Israel’s human capital by empowering its most vulnerable citizens – youth at risk, the elderly, people with disabilities, the ultra-Orthodox, Israeli Arabs, and new immigrants – with the tools they need to participate in the country’s future. Additionally, JDC provides a robust Jewish response to natural and man-made disasters and engages in long-term development project worldwide.
World ORT works for the advancement of the Jewish People through education and training for employment in Israel, CIS and Baltic States, Latin America and other countries. Its mission is to provide individuals worldwide with the skills and knowledge necessary to cope with the challenges of their environment and to foster economic self-sufficiency, mobility and a sense of identity through the use of state-of-the-art technology. World ORT works in partnership with the Jewish Federations of North America and other major Jewish organizations and educational institutions to deliver the best practical education for those in need.
