At last night’s JFGD Board Meeting, we started the meeting with a D’var Torah written by JCRC Director Rabbi Ari Ballaban. In part it read:

“In these days of introspection, we are supposed to consider what we’ve done right and what we’ve done wrong; we’re supposed to make amends; we’re supposed to give ourselves a fresh slate for the new year, and, thus, restore our souls to equilibrium; and, at the end of all this, we’re supposed to feel energized and ready for the year ahead of us.”

Judaism has brought a great deal of wisdom to my life. I love the idea that during the High Holidays, we are able to “wipe the slate clean” and renew and enrich our soul.

I wish everyone good health and happiness.

The WHIM will be back at the end of the month ~ L’Shanah Tovah!
