Annual Meeting Our Annual Meeting serves as an important yearly benchmark for our board and committee members. B’nai Tzedek Through the Jewish Foundation of Greater Dayton’s B’nai Tzedek Program, teens learn the power of giving while connecting with other participants and gaining leadership skills. BBYO BBYO is the leading pluralistic teen movement aspiring to involve more Jewish teens in more meaningful Jewish experiences. Camp Shalom At Camp Shalom, we encourage self-discovery and inspire confidence, providing a framework for lasting memories and friendships. Community Chanukah Party The JCC hosts a community wide Chanukah celebration for all ages. Counseling While Jewish Family Services does not have counseling services, we can direct people through Information & Referral and Case Management to our partner agencies that have counseling services, as appropriate. Cultural Arts and Book Series (CABS) The Cultural Arts & Book Series educates and entertains every year, offering outstanding programming that promotes awareness, appreciation and pride in the diversity of the Jewish people and community. Day Schools, Sunday Schools, & Continuing Education Dayton Jewish Film Festival Held annually in early summer, The Dayton Jewish Film Festival brings the best in Jewish and Israeli cinema to greater Dayton. Every year, our festival features an internationally award-winning selection of feature and documentary films. Handyman Services Jewish Family Services has a volunteer handyman. These services are intended to keep our seniors safe in their homes. Holiday Outreach Three times a year, at Purim, Rosh Hashanah, and Chanukah, we assemble and deliver holiday bags to isolated seniors and those living in independent, assisted, and skilled nursing facilities. Holocaust Art & Writing Contest Open to grades 5–8 (Division I) and 9–12 (Division II), public, parochial or home schooled in the Miami Valley (OH) Holocaust Remembrance (Yom Hashoah) Yom HaShoah, also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day, occurs once a year between the months of April and May. JCRC – Jewish Community Relations Council What is JCRC? JCRC Dayton - The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) serves as the voice of the JFGD on issues of social justice, public policy, and Israel. Through outreach and advocacy, JCRC represents Dayton's Jewish community on issues that impact our local, state, national, and international communities in support of an inclusive and equitable mosaic world. Jewish Dayton Dreams Big This project will help shape and direct our Jewish community over the next 20 years. Junior Youth Group (JYG) The Dayton Jewish Youth Group is for all Jewish preteens and teens in grades 6-8. They meet once a month during the school year for fun, social and Jewish programs. Legacies, Tributes & Memorials Donating to the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton is a wonderful way to honor a special simcha or life cycle event, honor the memory of a friend or loved one or recognize someone in the community. LIFE & LEGACY Program Through training, support and monetary incentives, LIFE & LEGACY motivates Jewish organizations to secure legacy gifts, steward donors and integrate legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of the Jewish community. Preschool The JCC's Early Childhood Care & Education at the Boonshoft CJCE in Centerville offers facilities especially designed for the young child. Open to children ages 6 weeks – kindergarten, our center provides top-notch care and education while connecting students to Judasim. Presidents Dinner The goal of the Presidents Dinner is to bring in world-renowned speakers for a one-of-a-kind experience that will inspire our community with a global message of Tikkun Olam on an intimate level. Professional Advisory Group This group allows area professional advisors the opportunity to collaborate with the Jewish Foundation to help our community members make informed decisions about charitable giving. The SEEDS Project Subsidizing and Enhancing Experiences for Dayton Students The Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton invites you to apply for up to $500 to send your child [K – 12] to a Jewish program. Transportation Services If you are a senior or someone who has a disability AND JFS provides case management services for you, you may be eligible to use our transportation services. Women’s Philanthropy A Sisterhood of philanthropic giving within our Dayton Jewish community. Women’s Seder A meaningful experience of feminine solidarity, collaborate with women from different synagogues, as well as the Dayton community, to share and celebrate the holiday of Passover with other women. Young Adult Division (YAD) The Young Adult Division (YAD) of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton connects and builds community for young Jewish individual’s ages 21-35 which includes single Jewish students and professionals as well as young Jewish couples and families. Youth Theatre The JCC Youth Theatre is a program where children in grades 3-12 can challenge and express themselves through the theatrical arts.
